Château Luc de Beaumont 2015 Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux
Our first wine of the month originates from a beautiful estate near the Gironde estuary in the Blaye region of Bordeaux, France. The vineyards are planted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon vines on clay and gravel soil and are nurtured by Luc Schweitzer, the proud descendent of five generations of winegrowers, who continues to uphold his family’s traditions with this wonderful Merlot based Claret.
I recently discovered this wine at the London Wine Fair. Having tasted dozens of red wines from the region, this full bodied award winning wine impressed itself upon us as a result of its sumptuous velvety tannins, long finish and excellent value.
I hope you will enjoy this gem as much as we do which is best appreciated when decanted for at least one hour before serving.
