Château La Fuie Saint Bonnet – Médoc AOC
Médoc is a region of France, located in the Gironde département, on the left bank of the Gironde river, north of Bordeaux and it is well known for the finest wines such as Margaux, Pauillac, and Château Lafite-Rothschild. As for the majority of left bank production the predominant grape is Cabernet Sauvignon, followed by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and to a lesser degree Petit Verdot, Malbec and Carmenere.
Château La Fuie Saint Bonnet is made by the traditional method with 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot. The colour is intense ruby red with garnet reflections. On the nose you sense intense notes of black cherries, liquorice, earth and leather. The taste is marked by the predominant Cabernet Sauvignon, with soft tannins, full body and long finish. This wine has just become ready to drink now and will still improve and maintain over the next 5 years. Excellent when paired with roasted meats, steak, stews, gourmet beef burgers, game and hard cheese.
